Let's talk AFTERCARE!
The results of your treatment don’t end when you leave the studio — how you care for your skin afterward makes all the difference. Following your aftercare advice helps reduce sensitivity, prevents irritation, and protects your results, whether it’s from a wax, lash lift, lamination, or facial. Simple steps like avoiding heat, sun, and harsh products, and keeping the area clean and hydrated, will ensure your treatment lasts longer and your skin stays happy.
Waxing Aftercare
General Waxing Aftercare (all areas)
-
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming for 24–48 hours.
-
No tanning (sun or solarium) for at least 48 hours.
-
Avoid heavy exercise and excessive sweating for 24 hours.
-
Keep the area clean and avoid touching with unwashed hands.
-
Don’t apply perfumed products, fake tan, or harsh skincare for 24–48 hours.
-
Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent irritation.
-
Gently exfoliate the area after 3–4 days to prevent ingrown hairs (then 2–3 times per week).
-
Moisturise daily to keep the skin soft and smooth.
Facial Waxing Aftercare
-
Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours.
-
Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and moisturiser.
-
Always wear SPF daily, as skin will be more sensitive to the sun.
-
Avoid strong skincare actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) for 3–4 days.
Body Waxing Aftercare
-
Do not shave, pluck, or use hair removal creams between waxing sessions.
-
Exfoliate the area gently after 3–4 days to reduce ingrowns.
-
Moisturise daily, especially on legs and arms, to maintain smoothness.
-
Book regular waxing every 4–6 weeks for best results.
Brazilian Waxing Aftercare
-
Wear cotton underwear and avoid tight clothing for 24–48 hours.
-
Avoid sexual activity for 24–48 hours to reduce risk of irritation or infection.
-
No hot baths, spas, or swimming for at least 48 hours.
-
Gently exfoliate the bikini area from day 3 onwards to prevent ingrowns.
-
Apply a soothing, fragrance-free lotion or post-wax product if needed.
Lash Lifts/Lash Tinting
For the First 24 Hours
-
Keep lashes and brows dry – no hot water, steam, or saunas.
-
Cold water is safe – it helps seal the cuticle, but avoid warm or hot water.
-
Avoid sleeping face-down or on your side – this can cause lashes to fold or brows to set unevenly.
-
No rubbing, touching, or brushing the area.
-
Skip makeup and oily products around eyes and brows.
After 24 Hours
-
Gently brush lashes and brows daily to keep them neat.
-
Use only oil-free cleansers and products around the eyes.
-
Avoid waterproof mascara, brow gels, or heavy creams that can weaken the lift or lamination.
-
Nourish with a lash and brow serum to maintain health and strength.
-
Avoid heat tools (lash curlers, blow dryers directly on brows/lashes).
Ongoing Care
-
Keep brows moisturised with your water-based product to prevent dryness or brittleness.
-
Book your next lamination every 6–8 weeks for best results.
For Tinting
-
Avoid strong cleansers or exfoliants around the area for 48 hours.
-
Protect brows and lashes with SPF (wear sunglasses outdoors) as tint can fade faster with sun exposure.
Brow Laminations/Brow Tints
First 24 Hours
-
Keep brows completely dry – no water, steam, or sweat.
-
Avoid touching, rubbing, or brushing the brows.
-
Do not apply makeup, creams, or oils to the brow area.
-
Avoid sleeping face-down or on your side to prevent brows from setting unevenly.
After 24 Hours
-
Use a water-based aftercare product (such as a nourishing brow serum or conditioner) to keep brows hydrated and healthy.
-
Gently brush brows daily to maintain their shape.
-
Avoid oily or heavy skincare around the brow area, as oils can break down the lamination.
-
Skip exfoliants and active skincare (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) near brows for 3–4 days.
-
Avoid direct sun, tanning, saunas, and steam rooms for 48 hours to protect both lamination and tint (if applied).
Ongoing Care
-
Keep brows moisturised with your water-based product to prevent dryness or brittleness.
-
Book your next lamination every 6–8 weeks for best results.
Facials
Your skin has just been treated and is now in a more sensitive, active state. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure the best results, reduce irritation, and protect your skin’s healing process.
General Facial Aftercare (all facials)
-
Avoid heavy makeup for 24 hours (mineral makeup is okay if needed).
-
Avoid hot showers, steam, saunas, and spas for 24–48 hours.
-
Always apply broad-spectrum SPF daily, as your skin is more sun-sensitive.
-
Avoid harsh products (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide) for 3–4 days.
-
Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle, nourishing moisturiser.
-
Drink plenty of water to support skin recovery.
Purging (What to Expect)
-
After treatments that deeply cleanse or stimulate cell renewal (e.g. extractions, microdermabrasion, hydradermabrasion, chemical peels), you may notice small breakouts or purging within a few days.
-
This is your skin clearing out congestion and is temporary.
-
Continue gentle cleansing, hydration, and sun protection — purging usually settles within 1–2 weeks.
Microdermabrasion Aftercare
-
Expect mild redness or tightness for 24 hours.
-
Avoid makeup, heavy exercise, or sweating for the rest of the day.
-
Do not exfoliate for at least 7 days (your skin is already freshly exfoliated).
-
Moisturise often and use SPF daily.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week.
Hydradermabrasion Aftercare
-
Similar to microdermabrasion, skin may feel slightly pink or tight after treatment.
-
Avoid active skincare for 3–4 days.
-
Stay hydrated — both inside (water) and outside (moisturiser).
-
Use SPF every day to protect your fresh skin.
-
Avoid heat, steam, and heavy workouts for 24 hours.
Chemical Peel Aftercare
-
Redness, tightness, and peeling or flaking are normal. Do not pick or peel the skin.
-
Avoid makeup, sweating, and hot environments for 48 hours.
-
No exfoliating products or active skincare until peeling has fully stopped.
-
Apply a gentle moisturiser and SPF daily.
-
Stay out of direct sun and avoid tanning completely during the peeling phase.
-
Healing may take 5–10 days depending on the depth of the peel.
Ongoing Care
-
Stick to gentle skincare for at least a week after any facial.
-
Keep up with SPF daily to maintain results and protect new skin cells.
-
Schedule treatments regularly (every 4–6 weeks) for best long-term results.
✨ Remember: Aftercare is just as important as your treatment. Treat your skin kindly and allow it time to heal, so you get the most out of your facial.
